“Hidden Gem” Wedding and Reception Venues

“Hidden Gem” Wedding and Reception Venues

A hidden venue is one that is not obvious or easily known. It may be secluded, private,
off-the-beaten-path or a “best-kept-secret” by those “in the know.” A gem is a sparkler,
a prize, a treasure. The Puget Sound is rich in little-known venue treasures, from
SODO to Woodinville, with settings ranging from rustic, historic, and elegant, to modern,
adventurous and chic. Here are a few “hidden gem” venues we think are worth
exploring:

A Winery Venue. Among the 100-plus wineries scattered around Washington State,
some are brilliant for special celebrations, like weddings and receptions. In the Puget
Sound, Novelty Hill Januik Winery in Woodinville is such a location. It has private event
rooms in a sleek, modern winery design, expansive gardens, outdoor patio and award winning wine selections.

An Historic Venue. If you’re thinking of a city wedding, think about Metropolist in
SODO. It’s set in the historic Ederer Building on 1st Avenue South, built in 1919. It
offers an urban industrial warehouse ambiance with 16-foot walls and floor-to-ceiling
windows that create an elegantly urban, dramatic setting. You can bring your decor
ideas to this fully customizable space and create an unforgettable event.
A Chic Urban Venue. Another gem venue is Cast Iron Studios in the heart of
downtown Bellevue. This gorgeous setting is rustic elegance at its best – an exciting,
hidden space with custom-designed lighting, great catering options (Purple is next door)
and exceptional wine and cocktail service.

In Seattle’s Eastlake district, the romantic Serafina offer a warm, inviting atmosphere
with special features like a European-style outdoor courtyard (for summer events), and
an indoor stage that’s perfect for live music. Next door, Cicchetti Kitchen & Bar, has an
upper level mezzanine with views of Lake Union and the Seattle skyline (for details, see
our Venues page).

A Chef’s Table Venue. For a small, intimate and environmentally aware reception setting, discover The Chef’s Table at Local 360. This private, warm, rustic setting has a casual, farmhouse elegance and a country farm table that seats up to 55, or reception-style accommodates 70 guests. Their all-inclusive culinary delights include the most extensive locally sourced spirits collection in Washington State, as well as locally sourced meats and veggies. (for details, see our Venues page).

The fun of this venue search is discovering what inspires you to create an unforgettable
wedding or reception experience set in a unique, little known, local gem.
